A biological status assessment apparatus (100) comprising: a signal generator (110) configured to generate an electromagnetic signal (140) at one or more frequencies; a transmitting antenna (130) electrically coupled to the signal generator, wherein the transmitting antenna is configured to transmit the electromagnetic signal; a receiving antenna (150) located close to the transmitting antenna so that an evaluation space is defined between the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna, wherein: the receiving antenna receives a modulated electromagnetic signal (140 ') comprising the electromagnetic signal after propagation through the biological tissue under evaluation; a spectrum analyzer (180) coupled to the receiving antenna, wherein the spectrum analyzer receives the modulated electromagnetic signal and the sample spectrum data of the modulated electromagnetic signal; and a computer (190) coupled to the spectrum analyzer, characterized in that, the evaluation space is configured to receive a biological tissue under evaluation (12) so that the biological tissue under evaluation does not contact the transmitting antenna or the receiving antenna; and the computer calculates an evaluation parameter (Δ) based at least in part on the sampled spectrum data of the modulated electromagnetic signal, where said evaluation parameter is calculated by: ** (See formula) ** where Δ is the Evaluation parameter, ET (f) is the electromagnetic signal (140) as a function of the frequency f, ER (f) is the modulated electromagnetic signal (140 ') received by the receiving antenna as a function of the frequency f, f0 it is a lower limit of a sampled frequency spectrum, and f1 is an upper limit of a sampled frequency spectrum; and provides an indicator of the neurological state of the biological tissue under evaluation based, at least in part, on the evaluation parameter.Un aparato de evaluación del estado biológico (100) que comprende: un generador de señal (110) configurado para g
