PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel means capable of easily controlling a light volume.SOLUTION: The pharmaceutical for hyperthermia includes, as an active ingredient, a transmission light volume variable member 10 by which transmissivity of control object light decreases at a target temperature for use in hyperthermia, and includes a temperature-responsive material 11 and a light-absorbing pyrogenic substance 12, where the light-absorbing pyrogenic substance is the substance of generating heat by the control object light. A heating method of a heating object includes the steps of: bringing the transmission light volume variable member into contact with a heating object and applying the control object light to the transmission light volume variable member to heat the heating object to a prescribed target temperature, where the light-absorbing pyrogenic substance is a substance for generating heat by the control object light. The transmission light volume variable member including the temperature-responsive material is provided for controlling the transmission volume of the control object light.
