Disclosed are a dental three-dimension surface image producing device capable of obtaining a dental three-dimension surface image of an object, in which the surface of the object is expressed accurately by using an X-ray detector including an optical camera and an X-ray sensor of a low area, and a method thereof. The dental three-dimension surface image producing device according to the purpose of the present invention comprises； a three-dimension photographing module including the optical camera which photographs a three-dimension optical image of the object, and the an X-ray photographing unit which photographs an X-ray transmission image of all directions for the object； a reconstitution unit which produces volume data by reconstituting the X-ray transmission image； and an image process unit which matches the three-dimension optical image with the volume data, and produces the three-dimension surface image of the object by replacing a part of the different three-dimension surface image with a boundary of the volume data.
