The method includes taking at least one background image of at least 10 μm 2 of skin and then calculating an average background L value of the grayscale image. One or more treatment images of the skin are taken and at least one local L value of individual pixels or groups of pixels is calculated in the treatment image. The local L value is compared with the background L value. Skin abnormality is a skin area in which the absolute value of the difference between the local L value and the background L value is greater than a predetermined ΔLS value.
