PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that emergency stop buttons of machine tools and work machines are just based on an active action such as an operator's pushing the button through his/her own sensing the danger or the like, but the effective function of the safety device requires the operators' danger prediction capability； therefore, the operators who are inexperienced and have less danger prediction capability, especially, trainees or students who are learning skills cannot effectively work or secure the safety of the work.SOLUTION: A safety device for machine is invented and biological signals, such as cardiac rate, blood pressure, body temperature and brain waves, are detected, the detected biological signals are compared to reference values, then, the machine tools or work machines can be stopped safely if the probabilities of danger, e.g., deterioration of the health state or decline of concentration following it or due to other factors are degraded lower than the reference.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1【課題】工作機械や作業機械の緊急停止ボタンはあくまでもオペレータ自身が危険等を察知してボタンを押すという能動的な行為に基づいている．しかし，このような安全装置が有効に機能するためはオペレータが危険予知能力を有していることが必要になってくる．このため，経験の浅い危険予知能力に乏しいオペレーター，特に技能習得のための訓練生，生徒，学生などでは有効に機能し作業の安全を確保できない．【解決手段】そこで心拍数，血圧，体温，脳波といった生体信号を検出し，検出した生体信号を基準となる値と比較し，もしも危険に至る可能性，たとえば健康状態の悪化やそれにともなうかあるいは他の要因による集中力の低下が基準よりも下回った場合に，工作機械あるいは作業機械を安全に停止させる機械用安全装置を考案した．【選択図】図１
