The first band (1) is connected or connectable to a sleeve part (20, 20')and can be placed round the oesophagus (29), the stomach (28) or a transition areabetween the oesophagus (29) and the stomach (28). The second band (2) likewiseconnected or connectable to the sleeve part (20, 20') can be placed roundthe stomach (28) distally from the first band (1), and at a distance therefrom,and the area of the stomach (28) lying between the first and second bands (1, 2)can be enclosed by the sleeve part (20, 20').
