PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire for an endoscope easy to exhibit a fixing function to the endoscope regardless of the position relationship between the duodenal papilla and the endoscope.SOLUTION: The guide wire for the endoscope includes an element wire 11 having an elongated body section 114 and a distal portion 111 reduced in diameter from the body section a resin coating section 12 coating the body section and distal portion and having the smooth outer surface and a visible mark provided at the resin coating section. The body section has a flexible part 115 forming a part of the body section and lower in flexural rigidity than the other part 116 of the body section different from the part.
