PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein an acetolactate synthesis inhibitor is slow in exerting its effect and requires a long time until it can completely kill a plant because it acts through a mechanism involving inhibition of an amino acid biosynthesis pathway that leads to inhibition of cell division, growth arrest and ultimately to death of the plant and wherein the acetolactate synthesis inhibitor strongly exerts its effect when absorbed through stems and leaves and thus mostly takes the form of a preparation that needs to be used with water, such as a hydrating agent and an emulsion, which is dependent on water supply, requires a spraying unit and readily scatters.
SOLUTION: A convenient technique is provided to realize reduction of the amount of the acetolactate synthesis inhibitor applied to the environment and reduction of the number of days until the effect of the inhibitor is exhibited and completed, by coating or impregnating fine granules of minerals with the acetolactate synthesis inhibitor to increase its absorption from stems, leaves and roots. A herbicidal fine granule or a growth-regulating fine granule which acts further rapidly and stably can be realized by mixing other chemicals for treating stems and leaves or for treating soil.
