PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper which includes a fastening tape which excels in operability, gives no unnecessary uncomfortable feeling to a wearer and besides can make the disposable diaper fit to the body appropriately.SOLUTION: A fastening tape 10 includes a base end part 11 attached to a diaper body, and a finger-grip part 12 extending from this base end part. The shape of the finger-grip part 12 is made wide between the tip 12a thereof and the point of connection with the base end part 11 so as to form an expansion part 13. With this expansion part 13 made a boundary, a neck part 14 is provided at a position near the base end part 11 and a recessed part 14a of which the width in the neck part 14 is minimal is made narrower in the width than the expansion part 13. According to this constitution, the finger-grip part 12 is made easier to operate freely by taking the recessed part 14a as a base point and, in addition, the area of the whole fastening tape can be decreased while fitting properties are maintained.
