The utility model relates to the process of preparing tea from Annona muricata (Guayabano) fruit powder. Before processing into tea, the plant materials of Annona muricata (Guayabano) were standardized following the general protocol (Manual on the ICS-UNIDO Training on Quality Control of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants and Their Products, 1998). The preparation of plant materials for Guayabano tea were properly processed as indicated in the low moisture content of 5.69 pcnt and total ash content of less than 10 pcnt . Phytochemical screening for bioactive components/phytochemicals of the crude enthanolic extract of unripe guayabano fruit showed presence of leucanthocyanins, y-benzopyrone nucleus and 2-deoxysugars. Positive result on y-benzopyrone nucleus indicates the presence of flavonoids.
