A wound dressing system that stabilizes a wound and prevents the wound from deteriorating. A wound dressing system including a wrap and a frangible ampoule is provided. The wrap is configured to contact / enclose the wound site and includes an oxygen catalyst. The ampoule contains an oxygen precursor. The catalyst and precursor are configured to generate oxygen when combined with each other. A wound dressing system is also provided that includes powder, wraps and fragile ampoules in a container. The container is configured to distribute the powder to the wound site when activated. The wrap can include an oxygen catalyst and is configured to contact / enclose the wound site. The ampoule contains a liquid containing an oxygen precursor. The liquid is configured to contact the wrap when the container is activated. Furthermore, the catalyst and the precursor are configured to generate oxygen when combined with each other.
