To provide a novel hair dye composition that does not contain an oxidation dye, contains a basic dye and/or an HC dye, and has excellent hair dyeing effect.SOLUTION: A hair dye composition contains a basic dye and/or an HC dye and isopropyl myristate. Preferably, the composition further contains lyotropic liquid crystal, and the lyotropic liquid crystal has a cubic liquid crystal structure and contains polyoxyethylene octyl dodecyl ether as a nonionic surfactant.
