To provide a rice transplanter that deepens a planting depth according to a soil depth, and thereby prevents the occurrence of floating seedlings.SOLUTION: A rice transplanter includes a traveling machine body traveling by itself by rotation of wheels, a seedling planting device having multiple planting arms for planting seedlings in a field, a planting depth actuator 31 for changing a planting depth of the seedlings by the planting arms by vertically changing position of the seedling planting device, a planting depth control unit 30 for issuing an operation command to the planting depth actuator 31, and soil depth detection means 50 capable of detecting a soil depth being the depth of a soil layer in the field.
