The present invention relates to an isolated human cell comprising a cell being non-genetically manipulated, and characterized by: a) expressing tyrosine hydroxylase, nestin and H-NF and b) secreting brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and b) not secreting nerve growth factor (NGF) wherein a basal secretion of said BDNF is at least five times greater than a basal secretion of said BDNF in a mesenchymal stem cell.
