A method and a system for generating a panoramic x-ray image by obtaining volumetric x-ray image data having a first plurality of slices, segmenting the x-ray image data into a first portion above a vertical threshold and a second portion below the vertical threshold, and separating the second portion into a second plurality of slices. Further, the method and the system include generating a plurality of curves for each slice in the second plurality of slices, generating a master arch for the second plurality of slices, and generating a panoramic image based on the master arch.La présente invention concerne un procédé et un système de production d'une radiographie panoramique de la manière suivante : obtention de données radiographiques volumétriques possédant une première pluralité de tranches ； segmentation desdites données radiographiques en une première partie au-dessus d'un seuil vertical et en une seconde partie au-dessous du seuil vertical ； et séparation de la seconde partie en une seconde pluralité de tranches. En outre, ledit procédé et ledit système comprennent la production d'une pluralité de courbes pour chaque tranche dans la seconde pluralité de tranches, la production d'un arc matrice pour la seconde pluralité de tranches, et la production d'une image panoramique sur la base de l'arc matrice.
