Disclosed is an emulsion type cosmetic which contains cholesterol and yet shows no stickiness, good spreadability on the skin and favorable texture in application. The emulsified cosmetic is characterized by containing, as cholesterol, fish-origin cholesterol having a cholesterol content of 93-96% by area. The fish-origin cholesterol is preferably a cholesterol composition which is obtained by fractionating crude fish oil by distillation to collect cholesterol contained therein and then purifying the cholesterol using hexane to give a cholesterol purity of 93-96% by area. It is also preferred that the fish-origin cholesterol is free from sterol components derived from lanolin.La présente invention concerne un produit cosmétique de type émulsion qui contient du cholestérol mais nest pas collant, et qui présente une bonne capacité détalement sur la peau et une texture favorable à lapplication. Le produit cosmétique émulsifié est caractérisé en ce quil contient, pour ce qui est du cholestérol, du cholestérol de poisson de teneur surfacique en cholestérol comprise entre 93 et 96 %. Le cholestérol à base de poisson est préférentiellement une composition de cholestérol obtenue en fractionnant de lhuile de poisson brute par distillation pour récupérer le cholestérol quelle renferme puis en purifiant le cholestérol à lhexane pour obtenir une pureté surfacique en cholestérol comprise entre 93 et 96 %.
