A glucose measurement system comprises a glucose measuring device comprising a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader, electronics configured (i) to receive one or more signals indicative of a glucose level in a sample and (ii) to determine the glucose level based on the one or more signals, and a display for providing the determined glucose level. The system includes a circuit board; an RFID chip mounted on the circuit board; an in vivo glucose sensor coupled to the circuit board and in signal communication with the RFID chip; a memory for storing digitally encoded data representing a monitored glucose level detected by the in vivo glucose sensor; and an antenna coupled to the circuit board and in signal communication with the RFID chip. The RFID reader is configured to receive the digitally encoded data representing the monitored glucose level when the RFID chip is within a predetermined range of the RFID reader.
