The invention relates to a solid compressed lubricating member for a razor cartridge comprising from 10% to 90% by weight of a particulate material comprising water soluble polymer and from 12% to 40% by weight of a hydrophobic compound or mixtures thereof wherein at least a portion of said water soluble polymer particulate is spray coated with said hydrophobic compound and methods of manufacture thereof.
