PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical instrument-holding arm device which permits the position and the angle of a medial instrument to be significantly changed.SOLUTION: Since the medical instrument-holding arm device has a structure that upper and lower timing pulleys 5A and 6A of a vertical arm portion 4 are connected together by a timing belt 15, the range of rotation angle of a horizontal arm portion 5 is expanded, and the position and the angle of an endoscope 20 held at the tip of the horizontal harm portion 5 can be significantly changed. Further, since the horizontal arm portion 5 and a counterweight 6 make the same angular rotation, weight balancing by the counterweight 6 is maintained.
