PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved power head.SOLUTION: A contrast medium injection system includes detecting an absolute position of a syringe ram by using a non-contact sensor. A series of magnets and Hall effect sensor may be used or an optical reflection system may be used. An illuminated knob connected to a drive mechanism for the syringe ram rotates together with the drive mechanism and gives visual feedback with respect to operation by the illumination. An analog Hall effect sensor is used for determining whether or not a magnet is present and confirms a type of face plate used. The face plate is connected to a power head via a connector and has a control electronic appliance, and this may be used by two face plates by turns.
