The present disclosure provides an aquafarming system (10) and float (20, 22) for such an aquafarming system. The float (20, 22) is secured to a cage (15) to grow a harvest. The float comprises at least two legs (27, 25), the legs defining a flow channel (35) to allow water to travel in between a top surface of the cage and the float. The float also has a hydrodynamic top portion (40) that has sloped faces (55, 57) to allow for improved displacement of the float over water when the float is upside down relative to the cage. The float further comprises bow-shaped first and second ends (45, 47) to reduce the resistance of the float when travelling across the water surface. Overall, the aquafarming system with the improved floats will improve water flow and therefore food to the harvest, which will lead to larger harvests.
