The present invention relates to a method for producing microfibers using natural polysaccharides and a cosmetic composition comprising microfibers produced thereby. According to the present invention, microfibers having a high solubility and dissolution rate can be prepared, and when using them, a cosmetic composition having higher stability can be prepared in a simpler process. Further, according to the present invention, it is possible to easily adjust the diameter of the microfibers. The microfibers prepared according to the present invention are excellent in coating properties, adhesiveness, moisturizing properties, and the like, and can be applied to various fields.
