A pharmacy packaging system configured to dispense pharmaceuticals into apharmaceutical pouch formed by a feed roll and including a verificationsystem. The verificationsystem includes a camera system configured to capture images in a visiblespectrum and aninfrared spectrum, a first light source configured to output an infraredspectrum light, a secondlight source configured to output a visible spectrum light, and a processor.The processor isoperable to activate the first light source to illuminate the pharmaceuticalpouch and capture afirst image of the pharmaceutical pouch while illuminated by the first lightsource. Theprocessor is also operable to activate the second light source to illuminatethe pharmaceuticalpouch and capture a second image of the pharmaceutical pouch while illuminatedby the secondlight source. The processor is further operable to generate a third imagebased on the first imageand the second image.
