PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for culturing sargassum by easily proliferating artificial seedlings of sargassum including Hizikia fusiforme from the original algal mass by a cloning technique and then growing the proliferated seedlings to obtain the objective algal mass. SOLUTION: The method comprises the following procedure: Sargassum algal mass is collected and a piece of tissue is extracted from the thizoid, and the piece of tissue is then subjected to static culture to sprout seedlings. The sprouted piece is cultured by aeration culture to grow the seedlings. The grown seedlings are cut off from the piece and served as the artificial seedlings of sargassum, and cultured by making them adhere to an adhesion base material such as a rope.
