The present invention relates to a composition for delaying senescence, extending a lifespan, or preventing, treating or alleviating a disease caused by lipofuscin accumulation comprising sauchinone of Saururus chinensis as an active ingredient and, more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition, a functional food composition, a function feed composition, and a culture medium composition for a use for delaying senescence or extending a lifespan or a use for preventing, treating or alleviating a disease caused by lipofuscin accumulation comprising sauchinone which is one of the ingredients of Saururus chinensis or a salt thereof as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the composition increases resistance against dry stress, thermal shock stress, and oxidation stress, increases the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase which are antioxidant enzymes, inhibits accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), promotes creation of a protein resisting oxidation stress, and inhibits accumulation of lipofuscin to ultimately delay senescence or extend the lifespan of an animal. Specifically, the composition is effective only in growth of a weak body, and does not affect other physiological functions such as a reproductive ability, an intake amount of food, and a quantity of motion to eliminate physiological side effects.
