Disclosed is the use of an antigen-specific antibody obtained from the milk, milk product, colostrum, or colostrum product of a ruminant, for the manufacture of a medicament for enhancing and/or inducing an adaptive immune response against an antigen in an individual to which the antibody has been administered. Also disclosed is the use of a ruminant, antigen-specific antibody obtained from milk, milk product, colostrum, or colostrum product of a ruminant, for the manufacture of a medicament for delaying the onset or reducing the severity of one or more symptoms of a disorder selected from an allergic disease, an autoimmune disease, an infectious disease, and/or an inflammatory disease in an individual at risk of developing said disease.
