A pharmaceutical composition comprises one or more of: (A) a compound of formula (A-I) or (A-II) as herein defined (B) a compound of formula (B-I) as herein defined (C) a compound of formula (C-I) as herein defined and (D) a compound of formula (D-I) as herein defined. Preferably the composition comprises components (A), (B), (C) and (D) and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, diluent or excipient. A composition comprising 0.8-1.2wt% ascorbic acid 26-40wt% sodium pyruvate 26-40wt% succinate and 26-40wt% D-malate is exemplified. Preferably the composition is useful in the treatment of epilepsy or an epilepsy-related disorder, where the composition reduces the frequency and severity of epileptic seizures. Preferably the epilepsy-related disorder is seizure associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, encephalopathy, phenylketouria, juvenile Gauchers disubcutsease, Lundborgs progressive myoclonic epilepsy, stroke, head trauma, stress, hormonal changes, drug use or withdrawl, alcohol use or withdrawl, sleep deprivation, fever, infection, essential tremor, or restless limb syndrome.
