PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which prevents an indicator from making a response to a case of a small amount of excretion that does not require a change of the absorbent article and can inform a wearer of appropriate changing time.SOLUTION: An incontinence pad 1A of an embodiment of the invention includes: a liquid-permeable surface sheet 2 disposed on a skin-facing surface side a poorly liquid-permeable back surface sheet 3 disposed on a non skin-facing surface side and an absorber 4 disposed between the sheets 2, 3. The incontinence pad 1A has a wetting detecting region 5 where a wetting detecting means 51 that can be visibly recognized by a wearer is provided at least at one of both end parts 10a, 10b in a longitudinal direction of an absorbent article and both end parts 10s, 10s in a width direction. The wetting detecting region 5 is disposed in such a manner to have at least a part overlapping the absorber 4 in a thickness direction, and a liquid diffusion prevention region 6 is provided on a central side in the longitudinal direction relative to the wetting detecting region 5.
