PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair treatment agent which can impart a feeling of firmness and elasticity, shape retention, a voluminous feeling, and smoothness to hair weakened and having a thinned touch due to damage, aging or the like, and moreover, excels in the persistence of the effects.SOLUTION: The hair treatment agent includes a monovalent or divalent metal salt and a sericin hydrolyzate. The metal salt is a sodium salt, a potassium salt, a magnesium salt or a calcium salt, and preferably magnesium chloride and/or magnesium sulfate.
