PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking type cultivator capable of avoiding the situation of becoming clutch engagement in brake parking, without impairing operability of a deadman clutch.SOLUTION: A walking type cultivator is integrally constituted of a traveling device (5) for traveling on a paddy field, a cultivating device (6) for paddy field work and a handle (7) for walking operation, and comprises a clutch mechanism (8) for driving the traveling device (5) for transmission in response to deadman operation and a brake mechanism (9) for braking the traveling device (5) for parking in response to actuation operation, and can operate the clutch except for brake parking time by arranging a competition checking mechanism for regulating operation of the clutch mechanism (8) when operating the brake mechanism (9).【課題】デッドマンクラッチの操作性を損なうことなく、ブレーキ駐車中にクラッチ入となる事態を回避することができる歩行型耕耘機を提供する。【解決手段】歩行型耕耘機は、圃場走行用の走行装置（５）と圃場作業用の耕耘装置（６）と歩行操作用のハンドル（７）とを一体に構成し、上記走行装置（５）をデッドマン操作に応じて伝動駆動するクラッチ機構（８）と上記走行装置（５）を作動操作に応じて駐車制動するブレーキ機構（９）とを備えて構成され、上記ブレーキ機構（９）の作動時に上記クラッチ機構（８）の作動を規制する競合牽制機構を設けることにより、ブレーキ駐車時を除いてクラッチの作動を可能とするものである。【選択図】図３
