Disclosed herein are extracellular matrix (extracellular matrix) (ECM) compositions and methods of making ECM compositions. Also disclosed herein is the use of the placental ECM composition disclosed herein. In one embodiment, what is disclosed herein is an extracellular matrix (ECM) composition prepared using placental tissue, eg, human placental tissue. In some embodiments, the ECM compositions disclosed herein comprise from about 30% to about 60% collagen and from about 10% to 35% elastin.
