Hand shears.-Prun- 'ing shears or secateurs of the kind having a convex blade D working against a concave guard E or a concave blade, the blade D is formed with a concave portion d at or near the apex or point where the blades meet such concave portion gradually merging into the convex portion d<1> and forming, when the shears are opened, a more or less circular cavity between the blade and guard or between the two blades at the apex. In a modification a second concave portion may be formed in the blade D between the convex portion d<1> and the tip f.
