The present invention provides vaccine compositions for protection againsthuman rotaviral disease without significant reactogenicity. Human x bovinereassortant rotavirus comprising each of the four clinically most importantVP7 serotypes of human rotavirus are combined in a multivalent formulationwhich provides a high degree of infectivity and immunogenicity withoutproducing a transient febrile condition. Methods for producing an immunogenicresponse without producing a transient febrile condition are also provided.
