The rotation sensor includes a gyroscope (30) configured to measure (106) a rotation parameter of the gantry. The control system further includes a data acquisition system (DAS) (78) coupled in communication with the rotation sensor and a detector (26) of the imaging system. The DAS is configured to associate (120) projection data from the detector with the measured rotation parameter.
