The invention pertains to a straw chopper (40) for an agricultural harvesting machine (10), comprising a housing (42) a rotor (44) carried by said housing (42), said rotor (44) including a plurality of pendulously mounted knife blades (50) and a stationary knife bank (46) including a plurality of stationary knives (62) adjustably movable toward and away from said rotor (44), said stationary knife bank (46) including a tension rod (72) extending longitudinally through said stationary knife bank (46).It is proposed that the tension rod (72) has a threaded end and that a wing nut (74) is threadingly engaged with said threaded end.
