The present invention relates to a potassium chloride composition comprising an iron complex of tartaric acid, characterized in that at least 5% by weight of the tartaric acid is mesotartaric acid and that a 10% by weight aqueous solution of said potassium chloride composition has a pH value of between 6 and 11.
