A nebulizer comprising: a housing having a chamber for holding an aerosol; an air outlet communicating with said chamber for permitting said aerosol to be withdrawn from said chamber; a liquid outlet located in said chamber; a pressurized gas outlet located in said chamber adjacent to said liquid outlet; a movable diverter located in said chamber and relative to said pressurized gas outlet and said liquid outlet so as to divert pressurized gas from said gas outlet across said liquid outlet to produce said aerosol in cycles in coordination with a patient's breathing; and an indicator associated with said diverter and configured to confirm operation of said nebulizer. <;IMAGE>;
