The present invention suggests a method and an apparatus for estimating a symptom severity score for a patient with a mental disease. According to the present invention, the method for estimating a symptom severity score for a patient with a mental disease comprises: a step of acquiring a plurality of biomarkers by electroencephalogram analysis using an event inducing potential occurring while a patient with a mental disease performs a predetermined action； a step of selecting biomarkers among the biomarkers required for estimating a symptom severity score； a step of using the selected biomarkers to establish a symptom severity score estimation model of the patient； and a step of using the symptom severity score estimation model of the patient to estimate a symptom severity score of the patient.정신질환 환자의 증상 심각도 예측 방법 및 장치가 제시된다. 본 발명에서 제안하는 정신질환 환자의 증상 심각도 예측 방법은 상기 정신질환 환자가 미리 정해진 행동을 수행하는 중에 발생하는 사건유발전위를 이용한 뇌파 분석을 통해 복수의 생체지표들을 획득하는 단계, 상기 복수의 생체지표들 중 상기 예측에 필요한 생체지표들을 선택하는 단계, 상기 선택된 생체지표들을 이용하여 상기 환자의 증상 심각도 예측 모델을 수립하는 단계, 상기 환자의 증상 심각도 예측 모델을 이용하여 상기 환자의 증상 심각도를 예측하는 단계를 포함할 수 있다.
