PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of waving and crimping as hair damages characteristically generated by repeated exposure to high heat by high temperature hairdressing equipment such as a hair iron and a curing iron without generating the burnt smell of a base upon use of an iron, and simultaneously, to improve the durability of hair to high heat.SOLUTION: A hair treating composition includes a component A, a component B and a component C: the component A denotes glucose the component B denotes monocarboxylic acid having the carbon number of 2 to 6 and pKa of 3 to 4, or dicarboxylic acid or tricarboxylic acid having pKa1 of 3 to 4 and the component C denotes one or more kinds of organic solvents selected from aromatic alcohol, N-alkyl pyrrolidone and alkylene carbonate having ClogP of -1 to 2 and a boiling point of ≥200°C.
