PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a cutter from being excessively piercing a tomato and making the jelly part of the tomato spilled out.SOLUTION: The locus drawn by the tip of the cutter edge is a straight line, whose starting points are piercing starting positions S1, S2 and the end points are reaching positions G1, G2. With the reaching positions G1, G2 qualitatively defined, they are inside a tomato 1 and are on the placenta part 4 side from the jelly part 5. Line symmetrical about the piercing starting position S1 is the piercing starting position S2, and the axis of symmetry is the central axis C1 of the tomato. With the piercing positions S1, S2 qualitatively defined, they are on radially outer sides E, E' from the calyx recess part 7a at the apex.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
