A windrowing work vehicle (100) with a swath flap arrangement (156) is disclosed. The swath flap arrangement (156) includes a swath flap (162) that is supported for movement by a support structure (160) between a raised position and a lowered position. The swath flap (162) is configured to at least partially shape a windrow of a crop material (136). A method includes receiving, by a processor (202) of a control system (199) from a memory element (350), a stored position setting that corresponds to a position of the swath flap (162) relative to the support structure (160). The method further includes processing, by the processor (202), a positioning control signal based, at least in part, on the stored position setting. Also, the method includes moving, with an actuator (176, 178, 180), the swath flap (162) relative to the support structure (160) between the raised position and the lowered position according to the positioning control signal.
