The present invention relates to a brainwave control system and a method by utilizing event-related potential. The system comprises a brainwave capturing unit attached to a head of a user, a brainwave signal processing device, and a display unit for displaying at least two stimulating signals. The brainwave signal processing device comprises a signal processor connected to the brainwave capturing unit, and a central processing unit. The signal processor is for converting a brainwave signal generated by the user upon receiving the stimulating signal into a digital signal. After the digital signal is analyzed by the central processing unit, an identification result is generated and a control command is executed accordingly.
