The disclosed devices, systems, and methods facilitate secure fixation of a first bone portion and a second bone portion, for example, to facilitate joining. The device includes at least one bone engaging protrusion extending from an engaging surface of the plate portion for implantation in the first bone portion. A portion of the plate portion spaced from the at least one bone engaging projection may have at least one bone fixation opening. The at least one bone fixation opening allows a bone engaging projection to pass therethrough and into the second bone portion to secure the plate portion to the second bone portion.
