Provided are rapidly dispersing microgranular compositions with a median particle size in the range of about 100µm to about 300µm, comprising at least one sugar alcohol, saccharide, or a mixture thereof, at least one super disintegrant, and at least one multifunctional additive. In an embodiment the at least one multifunctional additive is pregelatinized starch present in amount of 1-3% wt of the microgranules. Further provided are pharmaceutical dosage forms, in the form of orally disintegrating tablets, comprising the microgranular compositions and at least one active pharmaceutical ingredient.
