PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the removing capacity of formaldehyde and to keep the stable removing capacity for many hours.
SOLUTION: This formaldehyde removing agent is configured to include an aqueous alkaline solution based on an amino acid with a pH of 9 or above and prepared by adding a substance, which is selected from the group consisting of any one of sodium carbonate, a sodium hydrogencarbonate, potassium carbonate and sodium triphosphate or a mixture of them, to the amino acid selected from the group consisting of any one of glycine, alanine, arginine, asparagine, aspartic acid, glutamine, glutamic acid, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, serine, threonine and valine, and a mixture of them. All of the constituent substances other than water are used as food additives.
