The method may includes determining at least one body condition parameter and determining the body area condition using the at least one body condition parameter. The determining of the body condition parameter includes recording, during a sequential exposing of a body area of a user to light of different colors by a display of a portable data processing device, a plurality of images of at least a part of the light which has interacted with the body area, determining a spectral characteristic of the body area by the plurality of images, comparing the spectral characteristic with calibration spectral characteristics obtained for a plurality of calibration body areas, and determining the body condition parameter including a result of the comparison.
