The present invention relates to a tamper resistant lid for a container. Thelid exhibits acentre axis (X) and includes an outer member and an inner member. The outerandinner members are further adapted to be substantially prevented fromdisplacementalong the centre axis (X) with respect to each other. At least a part of theinner memberincludes threads enabling a threaded connection to the container. The lidfurtherincludes at least one stop member preventing the inner member from rotationwithrespect to the outer member. The at least one stop member is adapted to becontrollably disabled with a designated force after said inner member has beenconnected to the container, so that the outer member can be freely rotatedwith respectto the inner member to thereby prevent removal of the lid from the container.
