PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical guide wire that has excellent lubricity at a distal end part, has excellent insertability and besides, enables in-blood information to be sufficiently obtained on a hand side as a resistance (a change), and can be is reliably pushed forward to a target region.SOLUTION: A medical guide wire includes: a core wire 10 having a distal end side small diameter part 11 and a proximal end side large diameter part 14 and a coil spring 20 mounted on an outer periphery of the distal end side small diameter part 11. The coil spring 20 comprises: a tip end side tight winding part 21 whose coil pitch is 1.0-1.8 times as large as a coil wire diameter and a rear end side loose winding part 22 whose coil pitch is 1.8-2.5 times as large as the coil wire diameter. A resin 40 is filled into the inside of the rear end side loose winding part 22. A resin layer 40A with the resin is formed in the outer periphery of the resin 40A. A hydrophilic resin covering layer 50 is formed by lamination on a front surface of the resin layer 40A.
