PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of suppressing leakage of a body fluid by arranging an absorber along swelling of a hip part.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 comprises a front waist area S1, a rear waist area S2, and a crotch area S3. The absorbent article has side joining parts 29 where an outer edge of the front waist area and an outer edge of the rear waist area are joined, and a pair of compression parts 81 where an absorber 13 is compressed in a thickness direction. The absorber has a pair of low basis weight areas 16 having a basis weight lower than other portions of the absorber. The pair of compression parts has a first compression part 811 extending from the crotch area in a longitudinal direction, and a second compression part 812 positioned on the rear side from the first compression part. The pair of low basis weight areas extends inward in a width direction from the outer edges of the absorber on the rear side from the center in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article.
