PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing detergent composition for cleaning which has excellent sterilizing effect to bacterial spores, and is excellent in safety and handleability.SOLUTION: A sterilizing composition contains one or two or more kinds selected from the group consisting of a polyalkylene biguanide compound represented by formula (1) and its salt, an alkali agent, and one or two or more kinds selected from the group consisting of a non-ionic surfactant and an ampholytic surfactant, and has a pH of 12.5 or more. A composition containing a quaternary ammonium salt and/or alcohol improves a sterilizing effect.
